Surviving Dragons Den…

Wow!

What a crazy time it has been for the last 6 months!

As you may have read in my last post, we survived Dragons Den!

We walked away without any investment, but on reflection, couldn’t have asked for a better outcome.

Now don’t get me wrong, our initial application to Dragons Den wasn’t done to get investent, it was more of a marketing excercise – infact – we really DIDN’T want to get backing.

We do have to admit though we did get caught up in the what if’s….

So the morning after Dragons Den was aired and our fate was made public, we dusted ourselves off and made the most of the social media – wearing “I love my Trunki’ T-shirts (they were turned down by Dragons Den in 2007 and a now worth in excess of 25 million…)

So around lunchtime, we receievd a phone call from a company who we had previously worked with before Dragons Den, Affinage!

Affinage are a professional hair care company who have been around for 20 years and they had approached us to buy a large quantity of our best selling shade of Glitter Lips, to put in as a gift in a new range of red hair colourants.

The feedback from salons was phenominal and after seeing us on Dragons Denn they called (we hadn’t told them about our airing as we were sworn to secrecy).

The MD, Eric Bailey, said he wasnt aware we were looking for investment, but would be very interested in having a conversation with us.

Blown away by the feedback from his distributors, Eric wanted Affinage to be part of Beauty Boulevard.  He and his team have the resources, contacts and distribution channels we need to help us grow Beauty Boulevard in to the global cosmetic compnay we know it can be.

We went in to the Dragons Den, but ended up with an angel investor.

Affinage are in 54 countries so far…we hope to be following suit very soon, watch this space…
